Selling For Helix
It’s been a year since I saw that first demo of the Helix at NAMM, and I haven’t stopped dreaming about it! But I decided that I should really sell some old gear before investing in the Helix. And I just never got around to it.
But after the dreaded HD500X sunlight-wah-freakout happened again, this time in front of a huge crowd at a gig in October, I decided it’s time to make this happen, before the sunny season rolls around again.
Furthermore, in the last year, Line 6 has released a 2.0 update with a new snapshots feature which makes Helix perfect for live performance.
It’s hard not to be sentimental about my old gear, but if I’m not using it, I should clear it out to make way for new stuff. I’ve been gradually selling off pedals and miscellaneous bits and pieces on craigslist, but it’s time to get more serious!
Since I got my Blackstar Stage 60, I’ve hardly touched my Vox AC15HW1. It used to be my favorite amp, but now it’s just taking up space.
Sad to see it go, but I just listed it on reverb.
And the Jamman Delay? It’s a beauty, but I really have no need for it once I have the Helix , right?
I listed it on reverb in December, and hopefully it’ll sell soon.
And I found an old Peavey PC-1600X MIDI fader box in my closet, which I haven’t touched in like 20 years, but which apparently is considered rather rare and sought-after now. Just listed!
As soon as I sell a couple of these, I’m buying a Helix!
Update February 9: Ok! The VOX amp and Peavey PC-1600X have both sold, so I’m ready to order the Helix! Unfortunately, Line 6 is out of stock. Damn! Patience, grasshopper!
Update February 28: Finally in stock. Helix is on order!
