Over the last year I’ve been working furiously on three new plugins destined for the KORG Collection 5 update: the ARP 2600, the VOX Super Continental and the EP-1. It’s exciting to see these publicly launch, and as always, I can’t wait to hear how musicians will use these in their music!

Exciting to see the module versions rounding out the family! Supply chain issues interrupted the progress of wavestate, modwave and opsix, and delayed the mkII and module updates for too long! It’s so good to finally see these launch!

You’ll see that I’m playing the opening organ parts on the Korg wavestate, with MIDI footswitch triggers on the Helix, while struggling to simultaneously play the guitar parts – tricky business!

It seems that all my recent blog posts are KORG related! Busy busy busy! Today, the wavestate and opsix native plugins are officially released, bringing the full power and sound of the hardware inside the box for Mac/Windows users. The sound and features are identical and interchangeable with the hardware, allowing a symbiotic studio to stage experience.

Following last month’s big update for wavestate, Korg just released the modwave 1.1 update, as well as the new modwave Editor/Librarian app. This update also supports the Sample Builder app (released last month with wavestate 2.0), so you can load your own samples into modwave.
Exciting to see this roll out worldwide, after such an intense development effort!
Long time no see! I’ve spent most of this year in an intense coding sprint at Korg R&D, developing the new Editor/Librarian and Sample Builder apps for the Korg wavestate and modwave, along with the 2.0 update for Wavestate and forthcoming 1.1 update for modwave to support all the new features.

Since the launch of the wavestate one year ago, I’ve been working furiously on the next synth in the family- the modwave. Like the wavestate, we designed and built this synth from the ground up, right here at Korg R&D in California, with help from our colleagues at Korg Japan. I’m excited to see our work publicly unveiled, and can’t wait to hear what the musicians of the world will create with it!
