multi/poly has landed

“Who needs another virtual analog synth?” Your answer to that may change after listening to the new KORG multi/poly! This has been an exciting product to work on – it just sounds amazing and I can’t wait to hear what people do with it in their music.

Inspired by the classic mono/poly (with its rich sound and unique sync, x-mod and oscillator rotate), and radically expanded and extended with modern digital features and modulatability- it’s much more of a re-interpretation than a reproduction:

  • Next-generation analog modeling with meticulously modeled oscillators, filters, envelopes, portamento, and VCAs
  • Virtual voice cards model hardware circuit variations providing a rich organic sound
  • In addition to the classic modeled analog oscillators, there are digital wavetable oscillators (inspired by modwave) and waveshaping oscillators
  • The four layers each contain four oscillators, noise, sync, x-mod, ring-mod, two filters, VCA, driver, five LFO’s, four envelopes, three key tracks, six mod processors, a motion sequencer, chord processor and three effects units
  • On top of all that, there’s the dynamic kaoss physics processor, an arpeggiator, two more mod processors, and a master reverb and EQ

That all adds up to an incredibly deep, complex synth that can produce some truly massive and amazing sounds. That complexity can be a bit intimidating, but the preset voicing is a wonderful introduction and super-dynamic to play with the mod knobs and kaoss pad. And try the included Editor/Librarian software, attached over USB, to better visualize and edit sounds!
